The Incredulity of Saint Thomas (1601-02) by Italian artist Caravaggio (1573-1610).

If you know Bible history, you might recall the story of the apostle Thomas who didn’t believe that Christ rose from the dead. Christ appeared to him and let the apostle touch his wounds, and then Thomas believed. This story is relevant to 22s, for the name Thomas adds up to 22. Not all people with the name Thomas are “doubting Thomases,” but most 22s are skeptical about matters relating to the invisible.

22 is concerned with making the intangible concrete. They take the dream of 11 and make it practical. So the apostle Thomas wasn’t off-track in demanding proof of the invisible. Intuitively, he recognized the job of 22, which is to keep your eyes glued to heaven and your feet firmly planted on the ground.

image240buddha500The name Buddha (which adds up to 22) means the enlightened one. With 22 in your name or birth date, you often get intuitive answers for practical problems from nowhere. If you subject these intuitions to the logic of 4, you’re liable to thwart your own genius. What enlightens your intellect is your intuition, and what gives power to your practicality are your ideals.

People born on the 22nd are constantly torn between their imaginative ideas and the need to keep these ideas within practical limits. It’s hard for them to maintain a balance between subjectivity and objectivity. Some resolve this conflict through art, music, and sculpture, as did Chopin, Wagner, and Debussy — all born on the 22nd.

Others turn their attention to the external world and use their enlightened intellects to solve the problems of humankind. Scientists J. Robert Oppenheimer (3/22/1904) Michael Faraday (9/22/1791) and Robert Millikan (3/22/1868) were all born on the 22nd.

Some 22s achieve distinction in both the arts and sciences. Samuel F.B. Morse (4/27/1791 = 22 life path) not only invented the telegraph, but also was a notable artist.

Les Paul (22 birth name, Lester William Polfus) was not only an accomplished musician, but he was also the inventor of the electric guitar.

If, however, a 22 turns into a negative 4, he or she sees the world as a hard, cruel place, where there is no room for idealism. Then power turns destructive, eg. David Koresh (8/17/1959 = 22 life path)the Una-bomber, Ted Kaczynski, born on 5/22/1942l and the Roman emperor, Nero (born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus). 22 soul urge. The power to do great things for humanity turns into a quest for power for its own sake and a need to control every situation.
